Our well trained & qualified support staff in the Department of Ophthalmology is dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of treatments for eye and related structures in adult & Pediatric patients with an intent to serve timely and precisely.

Ophthalmology deals with the treatment and diagnosis of disorders of the eye. Our first-in-district high-end equipment and experts provide end-to-end ophthalmology treatments. We also have a highly functioning in-house eye donation centre. We aim to transform Bharuch into cornea blindness and leprosy free till 2026.

One eye donation can give eyesight to two persons. Approximately 11 lakh blind population of our country is waiting for corneal transplantation. Hence, we took the noble cause of administrating an eye bank for the needy.

The humanitarian approach of hospital is also reflected in its organ donation services. Therefore the hospital has initiated Mission Eye wherein the objective is to make the entire Bharuch district corneal blindness and Mission Leprosy Free Bharuch by the year 2026. Under this Mission hospital performed the successful Corneal Transplant Surgery of Mr. Mahendrasinh Rana ( 52 year old) who is resident of Dahej Village. He was diagnosed for corneal transplant in Multi specialty camp which was held at Dahej in Month of February .His family Consist 5 members including him. 20 Years ago he lost his eyesight due to chemical injury at workplace. Due to injury he couldn’t able to see , thus he couldn’t get job anywhere till the date and family face the financial crisis for living and treatment for the injury. Luckily , Hospital received the eye donation in G.C Nahar Eye bank and further it is transplant to Mr. Mahendrasinh Rana’s eye in month of July. The Surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Anjana Chauhan (Ophthalmologist, Smt. Jayaben Mody Hospital).After the 24 hours of surgery , Mr. Mahendrasinh Rana is able to see clearly. He & his family wished the great full thanks to Dr. Anjana Chauhan & Smt. Jayaben Mody Hospital.
